1 Week Old
Baby Girl turned 1 week old today! It's already flying by very quickly. She had a big week. We celebrated Easter Sunday with an egg hunt after Sunday School. Mommy & Lauren stayed home but Doug and Gator got their goodness. We've been to the doctor and learned that Lauren is a healthy, beautiful little girl (nothing we didn't already know)! We went to Central Market for lunch and let Nathan play on the playscape. We visited the bookstore (Daddy and Nathan's favorite place). We had a picnic lunch today at the park and even went to watch Nathan at Tae Kwon Do. It's been a great week and Lauren seems to be adjusting to our family life well. We've had to make a few accomodations just for her (i.e. giving up sleeping at night) but overall we've had a fairly easy transition. Here's a few pics from our week.

World's Worst Garage! Doug & I could not resist taking a picture of this garage. I can't believe they aren't too ashamed to leave the door up! All I can say is Wow! Don't feel bad if you haven't started your Spring cleaning yet. Just come to our blog and look at this photo every time you feel guilty about not doing the dishes every day!

Lauren Faith Has Arrived
After a quick labor & delivery, Lauren Faith has finally arrived! She was born on April 8, 2009 and weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds, 12 ounces. She measured 21 inches long and is absolutely perfect. We are settling in to life with a newborn again and I'm trying to cherish every moment (even the hard ones). :) I can't wait for everyone to meet our precious baby girl. Love to all from The Wheelers!

Sweet Baby Girl Nursery
We finished Lauren's nursery this weekend and I'm ready to show it off! My mom and dad helped A LOT! Many, many, many thanks to them! I still have a few more finishing touches but I wanted to show off what I do have done. :)
Sweet little table was my Aunt Emily's. I saved it from her garage sale and Doug painted it for me. I think it turned out really cute. That's my super fancy chair that is so comfy. I bit the bullet and spent the big bucks there because I know how much time Doug and I will be spending rocking little Lauren. I can't wait to nurse her in that chair!

Awesome dresser found on Craig's List. It was yellow so Doug painted it cream for me and mom and I put pink glass knobs on the drawers. So cute!

The middle dress was mine when I was a baby and I'm going to bring Lauren home from the hospital in it. I'm ready for you, baby girl! The cross on the left says "For we walk by Faith, not by sight."
Changing table was Nathan's and the first baby item Doug and I ever purchased. Mom and I sewed the basket liners and I finally learned how to use a sewing machine.

Beautiful crib also found on Craig's List. I just wanted something super girly for this little one.

Growing Up!
Nathan will now know what it's like to feel the wind in his face and the freedom of his own 2 wheels. Of course, he will suffer a few falls and probably a few scraped knees and elbows. But at the tender age of 4, my big boy is now riding his bike without training wheels. I want to cry, smile, and hug him all at the same time. I think I did! It's just another signal that my days as Nathan's best friend and future wife are over. He'll be growing up and leaving me soon for kindergarten in the fall. I'm so proud of the boy and I love watching the milestones pass us by. I just wish they wouldn't fly by so fast sometimes! Here's a video of Nathan riding his bike sans training wheels.
And look closely at this picture, and you'll see the redneck knee pads. :) We couldn't find his - they're probably buried in one of the moving boxes - so we made do with a little duct tape and a pair of socks!
