Sweet Baby Girl Nursery

We finished Lauren's nursery this weekend and I'm ready to show it off! My mom and dad helped A LOT! Many, many, many thanks to them! I still have a few more finishing touches but I wanted to show off what I do have done. :)

Sweet little table was my Aunt Emily's. I saved it from her garage sale and Doug painted it for me. I think it turned out really cute. That's my super fancy chair that is so comfy. I bit the bullet and spent the big bucks there because I know how much time Doug and I will be spending rocking little Lauren. I can't wait to nurse her in that chair!
Awesome dresser found on Craig's List. It was yellow so Doug painted it cream for me and mom and I put pink glass knobs on the drawers. So cute!
The middle dress was mine when I was a baby and I'm going to bring Lauren home from the hospital in it. I'm ready for you, baby girl! The cross on the left says "For we walk by Faith, not by sight."
Changing table was Nathan's and the first baby item Doug and I ever purchased. Mom and I sewed the basket liners and I finally learned how to use a sewing machine.
Beautiful crib also found on Craig's List. I just wanted something super girly for this little one.

Growing Up!

Nathan will now know what it's like to feel the wind in his face and the freedom of his own 2 wheels. Of course, he will suffer a few falls and probably a few scraped knees and elbows. But at the tender age of 4, my big boy is now riding his bike without training wheels. I want to cry, smile, and hug him all at the same time. I think I did! It's just another signal that my days as Nathan's best friend and future wife are over. He'll be growing up and leaving me soon for kindergarten in the fall. I'm so proud of the boy and I love watching the milestones pass us by. I just wish they wouldn't fly by so fast sometimes! Here's a video of Nathan riding his bike sans training wheels.

And look closely at this picture, and you'll see the redneck knee pads. :) We couldn't find his - they're probably buried in one of the moving boxes - so we made do with a little duct tape and a pair of socks!

Photo Shoot

We had a photo shoot with Robin Winkles about a week ago and we got some great family photos. We have not done this as a family ever and we wanted to make sure our little family of 3 was memorialized before Miss Lauren makes her appearance. Here's a few of my favorites...

Best Baby Shower Ever!

I had a baby shower a couple of weeks ago and Miss Lauren made a haul! I am so grateful to my hostesses mom, Erin, Melissa, Aunt Virginia, Aunt Becky, Aunt Emily and my cousin/honorary sister Christie. My shower actually was rescheduled last minute and Christie even flew down again from LA for little ol' me! The shower was beautiful - everything was PERFECT! I am also so grateful to all my friends and family who were here with me for the shower. I had a great time and I can't wait for all of you to meet little girl! Love you all!

Just some of the loot!

Cute game Erin made with fun baby facts
Did you know that a baby uses about 7300 diapers in the first 2 years!!!!!

Cute clothes line of goodies

Adorable bird's nest cupcakes Melissa (Meme) made.

Best Baby Shower cake ever made. Melissa is so talented.
This matched my invitation perfectly!

Beautiful shower favors made by Erin. If you want gorgeous favors for your next event,

Awesome diaper cake made by my Aunts Virginia & Becky.
It had lots of hidden goodies inside when I sadly had to take it apart.

Beautiful baby dress given to me by mom. I opened a gift from her and inside was a bunch of tissue paper. One said "Open Me First." It was a picture of me on the day my parents brought me home from the hospital in an adorable pink dress and beautiful pink blanket. The next wrapped item was the little dress and blanket. I was so touched by this gift. Of course I boo hooed like a big ol' pregnant baby and then made everyone else boo hoo too! Thanks momma - I can't wait to see Lauren Faith in this dress and I hope she has a daughter to pass this on to when it's her turn. I'll be posting pictures soon of a side-by-side comparison.

Thank you again for a beautiful shower and all of the awesome gifts. Lauren is SET and Doug and I are incredibly thankful to all of you!

Soccer Champ

Just wanted to share some photos of Nathan's latest adventure. He joined a soccer team and is loving every minute. They are the Tigers and their colors are fluorescent orange and black. They lost their first game but it was still a blast to watch, and I don't think the kids had a clue that they "lost." I'm now officially a soccer mom!
I love the look of determination on their faces!
My Little Athlete!
Post-game snack was fluorescent orange cupcakes provided by Coach Kris! Gator ate the frosting and mommy enjoyed the cake. :)
